Finding ways to connect all of the community’s activity centers with a trail was a core goal of AWARE NCK. The group hoped to make it easier for residents, including Melanie Bourbon and her daughter Allie, to use amenities like the lazy river at the swimming pool. But its pursuit of grants to construct the trail led the group down the path of influencing community policy.
